The Jo-Jo’s name originated from a relative named “Joe” that had restaurants in Pennsylvania. In 1970 he decided to relocate to Atlantic City to open a “Jo-Jo’s Pizza” on the Atlantic City boardwalk with one of his cousins, Luigia & Antonino (Ed’s parents). The rest is history! The Jo-Jo’s family was responsible for introducing hand tossed New York style pizza, calzones, and strombolis to the Atlantic City area. Freshly homemade meatballs, large portion pasta dishes i.e. stuffed pasta and parmigiana were also incorporated to their establishments from their Sicilian heritage. Although other restaurants in the area continue to use the Jo-Jo’s name, we are the only family members left still in business. We continue to strive for great tasting food, quality service and affordability.
